Tyres are one of the most crucial safety components of your car. After all, they are the only point of contact with the road. It is accepted that tyre performance and in particular braking in the wet, deteriorates dramatically below 2mm. Approximately 12% of vehicles tested actually had illegal tyres, the legal limit is 1.6mm across the central 75% of the tyre.

Seafield Services recommend that you should check the general condition, air pressure and tread depth of your tyres regularly also making sure that the tyres are wearing evenly. Uneven wear can be caused by poor wheel alignment.
